Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to announce that the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicology (JSOT) will be held at Kanazawa city, one of the most beautiful and traditional cities in Japan, on June 29– July 1, 2015. My fellow organizers and I are preparing the meeting for exchanges of your research information, presentations of your research results, and having a talk about toxicology tomorrow in the environment surrounded by the traditional beauty of Kanazawa and the nature of Hokuriku area.
The useful activities of chemical substances such as medical supplies, agricultural chemicals, and food additives, are indispensable for the life of modern society. However, as a result, we are exposed to the potential toxicity of such chemicals. Particularly about the environmental pollutants, it is impossible for us to live completely avoiding the toxicity. The role of the toxicology that clarifies the relationship of chemical substances with living bodies and the environment is very important for defending human health and the environment from hazardous chemicals.
The main theme for the 42nd Annual Meeting is “Toxicology for Human Health and Environment Protection”. I hope that researches of environmental toxicology, clinical toxicology, and forensic toxicology comprehensively discuss the research results and give a chance to toxicology and JSOT for development. We are preparing special lectures, educational lectures, symposiums, and workshops, in addition to the oral and poster presentations as usual. Young researchers who gave an excellent presentation will be awarded. Prior to the Annual Meeting, “The 13th Citizen Exhibition Seminar” will be held as a part of the JSOT’s contribution to society.
Hokuriku Shinkansen will be opened for traffic in the spring of 2015, just before the Annual Meeting. It will take only about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Tokyo to Kanazawa. It is a few minutes between JR Kanazawa station and the meeting places. I hope that as many of you as possible will attend the Annual Meeting and make an exciting and fruitful gathering. I am looking forward to seeing you in Kanazawa.
Sincerely,
Toshiyuki Kaji
